Hollins Strategic Land successfully gained outline planning consent in October 2011 for residential development on a former public house, and a
reserved matters approval has now been gained.
Located in Hesketh Bank, West Lancashire the former Becconsall Public House was in a semi derelict condition and adjoining ancillary land had been left empty
and unkempt for a number of years. The site is located in a sustainable location being close the recently opened Booths supermarket, existing local shops,
businesses, schools and other local amenities.
The Company have liaised and undertaken extensive consultation with local residents and the Council in regard to the project prior to submission of the
planning application. Following the grant of outline planning consent a reserved matters application has been prepared with Rowland Homes, comprising a mix
of family houses and homes to meet local needs. The application has been approved and development is underway. The design and layout of the scheme has been
carefully thought out to including a feature building at the entrance to the development to reflect the dominance of the former public house within the
street scene.
