Proposal on land off School Lane, Forton

Hollins Strategic Land would welcome your views on our proposal for housing, a Neighbourhood Centre and public open space on land off School Lane, Forton.

The land forms part of the Forton Extension, which is identified in the emerging Wyre Local Plan for mixed use residential-led development comprising of:

  • 468 dwellings;
  • 1 hectare of employment land;
  • A Neighbourhood Centre incorporating a convenience store, community hall and satellite doctor surgery; and,
  • Extension to the local primary school.

Hollins Strategic Land are proposing to accommodate up to 210 of the required dwellings, including 30% affordable housing and bungalow provision for the elderly. We also want to provide the Neighbourhood Centre, making sure it is easily accessible for existing Forton residents as well as future occupiers of the new homes. The swathe of public open space, incorporating children’s play equipment, would link into existing public rights of way, providing access to the surrounding attractive countryside and aiding the creation of an organic extension to the village.
