An outline planning application is submitted in August 2016 for up to 97 dwellings off Sandy Gate Lane,
Broughton, which is a large sustainable settlement north of Preston and the M55. The scheme will provide market and
affordable homes for local people in an authority with an acknowledged shortfall in housing land. The development
will provide a high quality network of open space and cycle routes which link direct to Preston and the wider area.
The development also proposes ecological and drainage enhancements including hedgerow and tree planting, pond
creation and SUDs.
