The team is experienced and are passionate about dealing with the complexities needed to achieve development on individual sites.

  • Mark Cooper - Group Managing Director

    • Diploma in Planning Studies
    • Post Graduate Diploma in Town and Country Planning

    Mark has worked in planning, development and strategic land buying for over 18 years, primarily generating significant land and development revenues through the early identification of land, property and mixed use opportunities and subsequent promotion through the planning system from conception to disposal or development.
    Mark has held a number of long-term senior positions where his management of multi-disciplinary planning and development teams delivered tangible and notable results throughout the UK.

  • Stephen Goodman - Chief Executive

    Stephen has over 25 years' experience in commercial and residential property. He has been involved in all the major city centre property developments in Manchester including Barborolli Square, Spinningfields and Havelock Mills.

    Stephen is amongst the elite of development lawyers having advised a number of the North west's leading property developers and house builders.

    Paul is a Chartered Town Planner with over 12 years' experience in UK strategic land which ranges from acquisitions to providing strategic planning advice for a wide range of interests including national house builders, key pension funds, investment companies and individual land owners. He has a demonstrable track record of securing planning consents on a range of sites from small scale developments to large scale urban extensions across England. At HSL, Paul is responsible for securing both 'immediate' and 'strategic' land acquisitions across the UK and under his direction ensuring successful outcomes are achieved across HSL's land portfolio.

    With over 30 years of experience in leading planning and development delivery teams across all property sectors, most recently at Board Director level in one of the largest volume divisions of Barratt Homes, Jeremy has successfully completed many significant residential, retail, leisure, commercial and industrial projects. As Director, Special Projects, he is closely involved with landowners, agents, consultants and our in house teams in growing the operations of the Hollins Strategic Land and Hollins Homes businesses through targeted planning promotions, land acquisitions and disposals.

  • Christian Orr - Land & Planning Executive

    Licentiate Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute

    • Masters in Town and Country Planning (MTCP). University of Manchester (2009-2013)

    Christian graduated with a Masters degree in Town and Country Planning from Manchester University and was recruited by Hollins Strategic Land to join their land and planning team. Having moulded a role in strategic land as a graduate, Christian quickly progressed within the company having helped deliver planning consents and a number of land deals.

    At HSL, Christian’s role includes the planning and financial appraisal of new land opportunities, acquisition, management of projects through the planning system, landowner liaison and land disposals. In additional, he also dabbles in some of the company’s design work. Christian has overseen the completion of a number of projects from initial planning opportunity through to obtaining planning consent and selling the land.

  • Matthew Symons - Planning Manager

    Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute

    • BA (Hons) Degree in Geography, University of Wales, Aberystwyth
    • Master of Planning (MPlan), University of Manchester

    Matthew is a chartered town planner with over 9 years’ experience. As Planning Manager, he takes the lead role on the management of HSL planning applications and promoting sites through the development plan process.

    Before joining HSL in 2015, Matthew was an Associate at Sedgwick Associates, a planning consultancy based in Bolton. In that role, Matthew provided a comprehensive range of planning advice across a variety of sectors and covered the entire development life cycle, from long-term strategic land promotions through to the completion of the development.

  • Josh Ramsay - Land & Planning Assistant

    • Masters in Planning and Real Estate (MPRE). University of Manchester (2011-2015)

    Josh joined the HSL team in June 2015, in advance of his graduation from the University of Manchester with an RTPI and RICS accredited Masters in Planning and Real Estate. He has gained short term experience within Nexus Planning in Manchester and Philip Barton in Birkenhead.

    Josh will begin working towards achieving chartered status of the RTPI upon his graduation, and he is currently involved in a variety of residential projects.

  • Peter Cullinane - Land & Planning Assistant

    • BA (Hons) Politics, University of the West of England, Bristol (2012-2015)
    • MSc Planning (RTPI and RICS accredited), University of Manchester (2016-2017)

    After finishing a placement at Hollins whilst studying for his masters, Peter joined full-time as a Land and Planning Assistant in June 2017. Building on a range of experience gained both inside and outside of planning, he now working towards RTPI chartership. Peter is currently working with the team on a number projects, assisting on land searches for residential development, site appraisals and planning applications.

  • Mark Chadwick - Director - Hollins Homes

    • BSc (Hons) in Surveying (Quantity), University of Salford

    Mark is the Director responsible for Hollins Homes and also provides Commercial and Technical input into Hollins Strategic Land. He has over 25 years’ experience in housebuilding and construction and has worked for all sizes of Housing Developer across projects ranging from 2 bed starter homes to city-centre mixed-use multi-storey schemes. Having trained initially as a Quantity Surveyor, he then progressed through to Directorship at the age of 29 and ultimately to Managing Director status.

    In his current role, he primarily oversees the daily management of Hollins Homes.
